The inaugural Taiwan Super Cup BP Basketball Championship kicked off on Day 40 of season 98.

A total of 25 Taiwan teams eagerly signed up for the competition, representing various levels of international leagues from WL2 to WL5. The tournament is conducted under the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency, aiming to provide an opportunity for teams from different levels to compete on the same stage. Since its inception, the event has garnered significant attention from the Taiwan community.

Considering the diverse backgrounds of participating teams, the organizers have established a set of rules to attract more teams while avoiding significant disparities in team strength:

• Each team is limited to registering 10 players.

• Player’s RT must not exceed 250.

• The average RT of the 10 registered players must not exceed 220.

• Each player must play for at least 10 minutes in each match.

While these regulations primarily encourage teams from WL4 and WL5 to participate, some teams from WL2 and WL3 with insufficient bench depth are unable to join. It is hoped that all teams will actively expand their player rosters in the future to enhance the diversity of players. As this is the first edition of the tournament, the rules may be subject to revisions. Therefore, Taiwan teams interested in participating are encouraged to seize the opportunity and actively join!

Additionally, the Taiwan Federation provides a subsidy of 100 credits per team per game to alleviate the financial burden on participating teams.

The organizers conducted a live online draw for the schedule on day 35 to ensure fairness and transparency. The tournament adopts a single-elimination format, with rewards for each victory. The first round of 9 matches commenced yesterday, with 9 teams advancing to the 2nd round. They will compete against the 7 seeded teams in the Round of top16 on day 43. The final champion will emerge on  day 52, with the champion receiving a prize of 1000 credits. Who will claim the championship prize? Let's wait and see!
