LEGENDARY GILAS PILIPINAS faced Siberian Bears in their first match in World League 5.9, this is a rematch after L.G. PHI took the championship and swept Siberian Bears last season in the finals of World League 5.17. The game was played at L.G. PHI home court, it was a tight match until in the 4th, where L.G. PHI showed their consistency and determination to win as they outscored Siberian Bears 24 - 5 in the 4th quarter alone to took the W 80 : 61. Both teams lost their key players and looking to rebuild and stay alive in World League 5.9 after getting a promotion. MVP of the match is Harvey Campos finishing the game with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block while shooting 3/3 from deep. L.G. PHI leading scorer is Telmo Salero with 13 points, followed by Saso Pungartnik with 10 points. GILAS PILIPINAS shot 12/25 (48%) from deep, compared to 6/20 (30%) of Siberian Bears. Siberian Bears used an 8 man rotation (at least 10 mins of playing time), while L.G. PHI used all of their 11 players to help them took the W. Kleopas Baltakis, recently drafted by L.G. PHI showed his great defense although he does not have great offensive skills, finishing the game with 6 points and 3 turnovers. L.G.
